JOIN CACTI & COCONUTS AND THE LAKE PONTCHARTRAIN BASIN FOUNDATION FOR A DAY OF CLEANUP AND FUN AT BAYOU ST. JOHN
We will hold a day of cleanup at the mouth of Bayou St. John on Friday August 3rd, 2018 from 9 to 11am. Cleanup supplies provided. Bring water in your reusable bottle and help us keep it Zero Waste!
This is a family friendly event. In addition to the cleanup, we'll learn a little about the history of the bayou and its importance to the city of New Orleans. Afterwards we'll head over to the New Canal Lighthouse to tour the museum and learn more about Lake Pontchartrain, the bayou, and our beloved city. Bring $5 per person for the entry fee.
Please download Ocean Conservancy's Clean Swell app, which will be used to catalogue and quantify the types and amounts of trash collected. Data collected will be forwarded to the Ocean Conservancy to be included in its International Coastal Cleanup master database of marine debris.
